Stuart joined BAE Systems on their graduate programme after achieving a first class honours degree in Electrical Power Engineering.
After spending time working on export ship concept designs and build projects, he assumed a role in Business Development working on export and UK bids and building relationships with local governmental and trade associations for the business.
He was then seconded to BAE Systems Head Office as part of the initial M&A and integration team for what became the BVT joint venture between BAE Systems & VT Group. This led to him taking the role of Chief of Staff to the CEO of the joint venture for a number of years.
Stuart then became a head of supply chain for BAE Systems Naval Ships responsible primarily for establishing an appropriate controls and governance regime for the business, and his current role as Head of Industrial Liaison has focus on building relationships and ways of working again with trade associations/governmental/non-governmental agencies on behalf of the business alongside various business development activities. Stuart sits on the CBI Scotland Council and is a Board Member of the ADS Trade Association and Chair of ADS Scotland.
