Gavin was appointed Head of Corporate Affairs at AGS Airports Ltd in October 2024 to shape and spearhead AGS Airports’ governmental, parliamentary and sectoral engagement following nine years serving as a Member of the UK Parliament.
Representing Paisley and Renfrewshire North from 2015 – 2024, Gavin held a range of third party frontbench and committee responsibilities over successive Parliaments, including Spokesperson roles on Northern Ireland, Wales and Sport and serving on the Justice Select Committee.
Following his second re-election in 2019, Gavin served as the SNP’s Transport Spokesperson and as a member on the Transport Select Committee, leading scrutiny of UK Government policy on aviation, rail, maritime and decarbonisation. In that role he was closely involved in legislative debates, regulatory reform and industry engagement, holding ministers to account on connectivity, pandemic support and infrastructure investment.
He also served on several Public Bill Committees, examining legislation in detail through line-by-line scrutiny and chaired several All Party Parliamentary Groups, leading cross-party work on various issues, including violence against women and girls.
Prior to entering Parliament, Gavin worked in business management, building experience in business analysis and development, and customer operations.
Gavin is also a member of the CBI Scotland Council and chairs the CBI Scotland Infrastructure Group.
