As an Industrial Cleaner at SOLIS Group, you will play a key role in maintaining safe, clean, and well-presented environments across our commercial projects. This role supports our wider mission of delivering high-quality, reliable services to clients by ensuring that facilities remain compliant, efficient, and fit for purpose.

 

The scope of the role includes carrying out a range of cleaning and hygiene tasks across different commercial sites, supporting both routine maintenance and reactive requirements. By contributing to the overall upkeep and professional presentation of our clients’ premises, you’ll be directly helping SOLIS Group uphold its reputation for excellence and problem-solving across the built environment.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Cleaning and Sanitising: Perform heavy cleaning duties, including mopping, sweeping, scrubbing floors, and cleaning walls, ceilings, and windows.
  • Operating Equipment: Utilise industrial cleaning equipment such as power washers, floor scrubbers, and vacuums.
  • Maintenance: Routinely inspect and notify management of any deficiencies or required repairs. Ensure all cleaning operations adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Hazardous Materials Handling: Safely remove hazardous materials following safety guidelines.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain and replenish cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Yard Duties: Ensure the recycling yard and areas are meticulously kept clean and tidy.
  • Confined Space Cleaning: Perform cleaning duties in confined spaces, ensuring all safety protocols and procedures are strictly followed.
  • Housekeeping: Carry out tasks to maintain good housekeeping standards.
  • Safety: Read, understand, and work in accordance with any Risk Assessments and Operating Procedures provided by management. Participate in and contribute to any toolbox talks or safety briefs.

Essential skills, experience and qualifications

 

  • Capability to work in confined spaces, following all safety regulations and protocols.
  • Ability to handle and store cleaning supplies and chemicals appropriately.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team.
  • Comfort with working outdoors in all weather conditions and at heights if necessary.

Number of Hours Per Week 35 hours per week for 22 weeks

Working pattern and contracted hours (including any shift patterns)
Monday to Friday 9 -5pm

Wages

12.60 per hour

Details of Training Provided

The successful applicant will receive full training to carry out their role effectively and safely. This will include site-specific inductions, health & safety guidance, and hands-on instruction in the required cleaning processes, equipment, and procedures.

 

Support will be provided by the on-site team, your line manager, and the Head of Communications & Compliance, as well as colleagues at Viridor. You will have a named supervisor to oversee your day-to-day work, alongside access to a mentor for additional guidance and development.

 

Regular support and supervision meetings will be held to review progress, address any challenges, and ensure you have the resources and knowledge needed to succeed in your role.
