Green Fulfilment named 2025 Green Champion – Driving a greener future for global logistics

On a night of celebration and recognition, Green Fulfilment took centre stage at The Glasgow Business Awards, proudly receiving this year’s Green Champion Award. Sponsored by ScottishPower, the award honours businesses that have seamlessly woven sustainability into their operations, driving meaningful environmental change through innovation and commitment.

Celebrating over a decade of Green Champions

For over twelve years, ScottishPower has championed local sustainability through the Green Champion award, providing a platform for the city’s businesses to share their journeys and inspire others.

ScottishPower supports businesses with a range of practical green solutions, including 100% UK-generated renewable energy tariffs, smart meters to monitor and reduce energy use, and the rollout of public EV charge points. These initiatives empower companies to take meaningful steps towards a more sustainable future.

Winner spotlight – Green Fulfilment

Established in 2011 and headquartered in Glasgow, Green Fulfilment is a leader in sustainable third-party logistics. The business specialises in eco-friendly e-commerce fulfilment - offering warehousing, pick-and-pack and global shipping solutions designed to minimise environmental impact while maintaining the high operational standards their clients expect.

Green Fulfilment’s entire business model is built around reducing waste and emissions. Low-waste packaging alternatives replace conventional materials, and carbon-neutral shipping options give customers the chance to make greener choices with every order.

At the heart of the company’s culture is the “Green Champions” programme, which empowers staff to identify and implement energy-saving measures with Green Fulfilment’s sustainability efforts reaching beyond its warehouses. It participates in local clean-up drives, partners with charities to recycle packaging materials and divert waste from landfill and are currently exploring initiatives to raise funds for tree planting. By embedding these practices into daily operations, they have strengthened community ties, enhanced brand reputation, and attracted a growing base of environmentally conscious clients.

The Glasgow business’s future plans include achieving carbon neutrality across its UK and Netherlands operations within three years. These continued efforts and ambitious plans for a greener future earned Green Fulfilment the prestigious Green Champion Award and stood out for ScottishPower as an example for businesses across Glasgow and beyond.

Honouring the runners-up

While Green Fulfilment took home the award, the nominees for the 2025 Green Champion title each demonstrated an inspiring commitment to environmental responsibility.

AutoRek harnessed the enthusiasm of its volunteer ‘Green Team’ to embed sustainability into daily life at the company. The business encourages sustainable commuting through travel surveys, litter-picking events, a company-wide Plastic Free July, and even created an active travel challenge via an AutoRek Strava group.

EGG Lighting is pioneering circular lighting practices by remanufacturing luminaires for reuse and repair. Its operations cut waste and costs for clients, and the company plans to establish local remanufacturing hubs that will lower transport emissions while strengthening supply chains.

JACK RYAN, a bold advertising agency, has redefined media planning through its JACKtoZero initiative. By fully offsetting the carbon footprint of every campaign, embedding sustainability from the outset, and supporting tree planting and transparent carbon reporting, the business has shown that creative industries can also lead in climate-conscious innovation.

Strachan and Kemp Commercial Services, a family-run facilities management firm, is transitioning to electric, energy-efficient premises and moving towards fleet electrification by 2030. Already using hybrid and EV models, the business combines rigorous recycling practices with imaginative eco projects.

Terumo Aortic, a medical device company, integrates environmental responsibility into healthcare innovation. From biodiversity projects with Renfrewshire Council to achieving 100% landfill diversion and building energy-efficient facilities powered by air source heat pumps, the business is proving that sustainable infrastructure can coexist with cutting-edge medical technology.
