Pupils from Whitecrook Primary School in Clydebank have been named the lucky winners of a competition to experience one of Scotland’s most exciting cultural events of the year – Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition at SEC Glasgow.
This Tuesday, a class of 36 pupils and teachers enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime school trip, thanks to the support of Loch Lomond Travel Group, part of McGills Bus Group, the UK’s largest independent bus company, who are providing free luxury coach travel.
The pupils were collected from school at 10am before heading to the SEC for the exhibition, with a free lunch provided by Levy Restaurants UK, the SEC’s catering partner, before returning in the afternoon on their McGill’s coach.
Bethan Dooley, Marketing Manager at McGill’s Buses said “We’re proud to support our local communities especially with opportunities that bring learning to life outside the classroom. Transport shouldn’t be a barrier to incredible experiences, and we were delighted to play our part in helping Whitecrook Primary make the most of their special day at the SEC.”
Angela Smith, Head of New Business at the SEC Glasgow added “We’re thrilled to welcome Whitecrook Primary to the SEC as winners of our competition. It’s wonderful to see young people engaging with such an immersive cultural experience, and we know the pupils will have had a truly memorable day. Tutankhamun: The Immersive Exhibition has been an incredible success here in Glasgow, and we’re proud to have been able to share it with the Whitecrook students.”
The competition, run by SEC and supported by Loch Lomond Travel Group, was open to Glasgow-area primary schools and invited teachers to nominate their class for the chance to win. Whitecrook Primary’s entry was selected as the lucky winner.
The Immersive Exhibition has been a standout show across Europe and beyond, captivating over two million visitors worldwide. Now open at SEC Glasgow until 26th October 2025, the exhibition combines ancient history with cutting-edge technology to bring the story of the Boy King vividly to life. Visitors can explore:
