Entries are now open for the 27th annual Glasgow Business Awards, hosted by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, which celebrate the successes of the city’s business community from the past 12 months.
The black-tie ceremony will return to the DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central on Thursday 2 October 2025 with The Herald as media partner alongside a number of other longstanding category sponsors.
This year’s prestigious Awards will be held in partnership with Virgin Money. This exciting collaboration brings together two organisations committed to championing innovation, excellence, and growth across Glasgow’s vibrant business community. KWC Global has also joined as a new category sponsor.
Businesses can enter 14 competitive categories which each champion various professional characteristics from innovation and communications to community wealth and sustainability.
The most prestigious accolade of the night, the Award for Most Outstanding Business, will be presented to one of the winners of the competitive categories.
Individual entrepreneurs will also be recognised through awards for Entrepreneur of the Year and Young Business Person of the Year.
Glasgow’s Favourite Business, sponsored by The Herald’s sister publication, Glasgow Times, and voted for by the public, will also return. Submissions can be entered now with the shortlist revealed over the summer for the public to decide who receives the top title on the night.
The Glasgow Chamber of Commerce Award for Lifetime Achievement will be the final accolade of the evening, celebrating the contribution of one of the most inspiring business leaders in Glasgow. Previous recipients have included Eddie Hawthorne, CEO of Arnold Clark, Dr Bridget McConnell CBE, former CEO of Glasgow Life and last year’s winner Peter Duthie, former CEO of the SEC.
Richard Muir, Deputy Chief Executive, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Virgin Money for this year’s Glasgow Business Awards. Their involvement brings valuable insight and strong support to the event, and together we look forward to celebrating the remarkable achievements of Glasgow’s business community.”
“This event is a highlight of the business calendar for Glasgow. There is always such a fantastic atmosphere in the room on the night, and the strong community of our city shines through.
“We should celebrate the successes of our businesses and take pride in the unique, varied and innovative sectors that call Glasgow their home. We are looking forward to receiving this year’s entries.”
David Henderson, Head of Strategic Finance, West of Scotland, Virgin Money, said: We’re proud to sponsor The Glasgow Business Awards in this landmark year for the city and for Virgin Money. As we celebrate Glasgow’s 850th anniversary and our first year as part of Nationwide Building Society, we remain committed to the city and to our Blueprint: banking that’s fairer, more rewarding, and for the good of society.
“These awards shine a light on the innovation, resilience, and excellence that define Glasgow’s business community - and we’re honoured to help recognise and celebrate that success.”
