Renewable and low carbon energy developers, investors, buyers, sellers, engineers, academics and industry experts from home and overseas are arriving in Glasgow in their thousands for the annual All-Energy exhibition and conference. Last year’s total attendance was 11,736.
“The UK’s largest event of its kind is the magnet drawing Scotland’s Deputy First Minister, the UK Energy Minister, Scotland’s Acting Climate Action Minister and experts from across the renewables and decarbonisation sectors as speakers and delegates; as well as over 300 exhibitors from 17 countries to the SEC Glasgow on 14 and 15 May,” explained Anam Khan, All-Energy’s Event Manager from RX.
“This year’s All-Energy is bigger than last’s and brimming with more free networking, knowledge and technology to help us hit the UK’s Clean Power 2030 targets and engineer a net zero future together. Visitors will be able to find the latest technologies, services and advice from the exhibiting organisations; attend the world-class conference with its stellar line-up looking at the latest challenges, opportunities and innovative solutions across renewable power, low carbon heat, energy efficiency and low carbon transport; and hear from experts in the seven show floor theatres.”
She has introduced new initiatives such as the Innovation Award for SMEs, which sees 11 companies’ displaying their solutions in the Innovation Showcase and also giving elevator pitches. They are Autonomous iOt; OnGen; Iris Solar Technology, Pure energy (REGen); Centre for Energy Equality; Triton Anchor Europe; VII Technologies; Booth Welsh Automation; Water to water; Sidon Water; and Trios Renewables.
Another innovation is the STEM & Education Programme, which will see school visits on Thursday by up to 300 students aged 12-15 from across the Glasgow City Region. The students will explore the exhibition, attend presentations and talks, gaining hands-on insights into the latest renewable energy technologies and sustainable solutions. Additionally, 16-year-old students will attend across both days guided by Powering Futures, to engage with industry experts, discover career pathways, and experience the dynamic world of clean energy. The student programme is delivered in partnership with DYW and the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, with generous support from SOWEC..
