The Scottish Government’s National Strategy for Economic Transformation (NSET) set bold and ambitious actions to deliver fairer, greener prosperity for all Scotland’s people and places, and to make our economy more sustainable and resilient in the longer term. The recently published Programme for Government, which has growing the economy as one of two central pillars, also provides a clear mandate and signal of intent that economic growth will be key to achieving the government’s ambitions.
As the national and international economic development agency for Scotland, we will play a critical role in helping to fulfil Scotland’s potential. Our Focus on Economic Transformation, published in January 2024, sets out our ambition in three mission areas where Scotland can thrive: accelerating the energy transition; scaling innovation; and boosting capital investment. We are now one full year into delivering these missions and our performance in 2024-25 validates this new approach and provides robust evidence that we are focused on the right economic opportunities.
Scottish Ministers are now looking to appoint four new Members to the Board. Building on the strong foundation of success already achieved and supporting the transformation work that we have already embarked upon, this is an exciting time to join us. Scottish Enterprise is looking for dynamic, experienced individuals to support the organisation’s senior team to deliver on our ambitions. This will be achieved through effective participation in the work of the Scottish Enterprise Board, ensuring sufficient support and challenge are offered.
These roles present a unique opportunity for the right individuals to be at the heart of efforts to support Scotland to emerge from the current economic climate in a strong place.
More information on the opportunities, including the skills and experience required and details on how to apply can be found at www.jobs.gov.scot/public-appointments.
Anyone that is interested in the role, requires further information or would like to discuss the roles, should contact karen.hannah@scotent.co.uk at Scottish Enterprise in the first instance. Further information about Scottish Enterprise is available at www.scottish-enterprise.com
Scottish Ministers are committed to diversity and equality. They value very highly the benefits of having different points of view and experiences on our Boards. Accordingly, we hope to receive applications from a wide range of talented people irrespective of their religion or belief, age, sex, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, political belief, relationship status or caring responsibilities.
