As the country gears up for the 2024 General Election on 4 July, we invite you to join us for a Glasgow Talks: Election Special, where academic and business leaders will discuss the priorities that matter most to Glasgow businesses.

We are delighted to welcome Graeme Roy, Professor of Economics at the University of Glasgow and Chair of the Scottish Fiscal Commission and Nicola McEwen, Professor of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Glasgow and Director of the Centre for Public Policy who will discuss insights into the politics and policy landscape, focusing on the parties’ manifestos and provide additional perspectives on policy trends.

Following the expert talks, a panel of business owners will join the conversation. They’ll delve into the key priorities for Glasgow’s businesses in the week approaching the election. Participants will discuss policy implications, economic growth, sustainability, and other critical issues affecting the local Glasgow business community. Attendees will also have the opportunity to share their opinions and engage in the discussion on what matters most to Glasgow businesses in this election? How can policies better support innovation, growth and stability for business?

Don’t miss this fantastic chance to be part of the dialogue! Join us on June 24, from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon, and contribute to a discussion on the priorities that will shape the country’s business landscape in the 2024 election.
