Scottish Growth Summit 2024

“£250 billion could be added to the UK economy if women matched men in starting and scaling businesses.” Rose Review 2019

The data from the Rose Review, since its launch in 2019, underscores the importance of the Scottish Growth Summit, a pioneering business growth event for women, which is set to take place on 14th March 2024 at The Studio, Glasgow. A very clear message to come from the most recent Rose Review, is that female entrepreneurs need better support (with a finding that 46% are not confident in their own business prospects) and equal access to investment opportunities.

Designed for women in various stages of business, from startups to established ventures, the summit promises actionable insights for every participant and has an aim to support women in business with a growth mindset and actionable takeaways to implement into their businesses and careers right away.

Co-founders Heather Offord, Clare Baillie and Laura Maginess, renowned for their expertise in business growth, have joined forces to organise this unique event. They aim to fill a notable gap in Scotland's business landscape, focusing on empowering women entrepreneurs through expert-led workshops, insightful panel discussions, and interactive expert pod sessions.

Key features of the event include multiple workshops, power hour and expert pod sessions focused on vital topics like Intellectual Property, Innovation, and Sustainability, and an engaging panel discussion with some of Scotland's leading businesswomen. Networking opportunities created to suit both introverts and extroverts, a fully catered experience, and a sponsored bar are also part of the event, ensuring a holistic and enriching experience.

Heather Offord says: “When it came to picking a host for The Scottish Growth Summit, we unanimously decided that Claire Nelson, Managing Director Netball Super League, was the powerhouse woman for the job! Claire is a global industry award winning leader who is recognised as one of the most impactful and influential women in UK women’s sport. At the Scottish Growth Summit, we invite our guests to prepare to be inspired by Claire Nelson, during a thought-provoking growth session. Specialising in business transformation, commercial, brand and marketing, Claire delivers refreshing honesty, insight and practical advice in her quest to inspire and empower women into realising and fulfilling their true potential, personally and professionally.

Laura says:  “And to kickstart The Scottish Growth Summit we are so delighted to bring to our attendees a discussion from an inspirational panel of successful women in business, including Viana Maya (Founder of pRESPECT & pRESPECT Hub CIC), Alice Thompson (Purpose Coach at Alice Thompson Coaching, Motivational Speaker and Co-Founder of SocialBite), Sheila Hogan (CEO and Founder of Biscuit Tin as seen on Dragons Den), Mhairi Duncan (Regional Manager at Prosper (previously SCDI) and Professor Eleanor Shaw OBE (Professor of Entrepreneurship at the University of Glasgow and Professor of Entrepreneurship & Associate Principal at the University of Strathclyde). We invite our guests to learn from their expert knowledge, triumphs, challenges, and game-changing strategies.

Clare Baillie says: “Every attendee will get the chance to attend our three insightful workshops led by industry experts. These include Business Growth & Strategy Planning (from Scottish Enterprise and Business Glasgow), Building Your Brand, and Empowering Your Financial Future (from RBS). And from there, we move to our unmissable Lunch and Learn sessions and networking - it will be a transformative day for all!”

We are proud to invite soo many amazing sponsors onboard - with great excitement, we can announce our Headline Sponsor as Designer In Your Pocket by Julie Christie-Clark and our Drinks Reception sponsor as Clarity Accounting.  Our sponsors bring their own twist and additions to the event - watch this space!

The summit's mission is not just about immediate learning but fostering a long-term community for ongoing support and growth. Attendees can expect to leave feeling energised, informed, and empowered with concrete action points for their businesses.
