Chamber Members showcase their generosity this festive season

Businesses from across the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce network are spreading joy this festive season, helping to give local families the Christmas they deserve.

Topgolf Glasgow and charity partner, Healthy n Happy Community Development Trust, kicked off their festivities by hand delivering over 600 presents to people across Cambuslang and Rutherglen who otherwise would go without this Christmas. In a bid to make sure everyone has excitement on Christmas Day, a team of 12 Topgolf Playmakers and volunteers from Healthy n Happy worked together to pack up hundreds of presents which had been donated by big-hearted locals before setting out around Cambuslang and Rutherglen to give back.

As well as 600 physical gifts, people and businesses from around Glasgow, Rutherglen, Cambuslang and Lanarkshire, have dug deep and contributed a total of £1000. This generosity allowed Healthy n Happy to buy gifts for all age groups where there were shortages in donated presents. Thanks to this gesture, Healthy n Happy and Topgolf were able to ‘Give a Gift of Joy’ this Christmas to children, young people, adults and older people.

Allied Vehicles, recent recipient of the Commitment to the Community Award at the Scottish Family Business Awards, have once again supported the North West Children and Families Team in Possilpark. For the past five years, Allied Vehicles staff and the company have pledged to support through the Glasgow Spirit of Christmas campaign.

This year, all 279 outstanding Christmas gifts were delivered to the Possilpark based social work team, along with an additional six bikes and helmets, to support families in need this Christmas time.

CCG Scotland staff showed their festive spirit and generosity by wearing their Christmas jumpers and raising money for locally-based charities across South Lanarkshire, North Lanarkshire and Glasgow.

The employees across six sites – Bearsden Road, Brandon Street, Kennedy Drive, Castlehill Road, and Meat Market – as well as our Head Office and CCG OSM – chose a different charity to support, and the total amount collected was a whopping £1,138.

And finally more than 100 children and their families attended Men Matter Scotland’s Christmas grotto event near Drumchapel on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 December, thanks to fundraising and 90 hours of volunteering from GRAHAM over a three-month period.

This is the second year that the leading contractor has supported the Glasgow-based charity. This year’s fun-filled event was supported by £550 raised by staff at GRAHAM, along with 18 volunteers to decorate the festive grotto and wrap the abundance of Christmas presents which had been generously donated across its Glasgow sites and offices, all of which were warmly welcomed by Men Matter Scotland and local families.
