Stagecoach West Scotland and Santa have teamed up to bring joy to communities across the West Coast of Scotland this December. Joined by his team of merry elves, Santa will be visiting Ayr, Cumnock, Irvine, Dumfries and Stranraer on selected dates.
The specially designed Christmas bus has been created to fundraise for the Night Before Christmas (NB4CC), tickets are available to book via stagecoachbus.om to visit Santa, with a suggested donation of £3 per family. Children will be able to hop on board to meet Santa and receive a special gift.
Fiona Doherty, Stagecoach West Scotland Managing Director said: “We’re delighted Santa will be choosing to travel with us this month as we spread a little extra joy across our network.”
Stagecoach employees have been getting into the festive spirit by making donations of toys, warm clothes, and other winter essentials to the Night Before Christmas Campaign. Further fundraising is planned on 7 December with bus drivers wearing their favourite seasonal woollies for Christmas Jumper Day.
Fiona continued: “It’s great to see everyone across our organisation getting involved and going the extra mile to spread festive cheer.”
Bus services will continue to operate over the festive holiday period with some adjustments on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. Some services will finish early on Christmas Eve with no bus services operating on Christmas Day, and some services operating as a Sunday or reduced Sunday service on Boxing Day.
Between 27 and 29 December, buses will operate as Saturday services and finish a little earlier on New Year’s Eve, there will be no bus services on New Year’s Day.
Services on 2 January will operate as a Sunday or reduced Sunday timetable, with all buses returning to normal on 3 January 2024.
