To help Glasgow 2026 run safely and smoothly, a number of temporary traffic and parking arrangements will be introduced around competition venues and key routes.
The measures have been carefully planned to minimise disruption and are significantly less extensive than those put in place for previous major sporting events. Most changes are time limited and affect only specific locations, helping residents, businesses and visitors continue to move around the city with ease while Glasgow hosts the Games.
Details of the temporary arrangements are provided below.

Reason for Restrictions
To facilitate a temporary restriction for the Commonwealth Games to take place and for the safety of other road users and pedestrians.
“vehicle” unless the context otherwise requires, means a vehicle of any description and includes a machine or implement of any kind drawn or propelled along roads whether or not by mechanical power;
“emergency service vehicle” means a vehicle being used by the Police, Fire or Ambulance Services and includes blood transfer vehicles operated by the NHS.
“Prohibition to vehicle movements” applying to all directions unless otherwise stated.
