Her appointment enhances Harper Macleod’s ability to provide joined‑up, commercially focused advice for clients and their advisers.
The firm’s private client team works closely with business owners, entrepreneurs and high‑net‑worth individuals to help them plan for the future, protect assets and manage inter‑generational wealth in a way that aligns legal, tax and financial objectives.
Pamela Niven, partner and head of Harper Macleod’s private client team, said:
“Carole is widely respected for the quality of her advice and her ability to deal with complex matters in a clear, pragmatic and client‑focused way. She brings a wealth of experience in trust and estate planning and a strong understanding of the issues facing individuals, families, and their advisers. Her appointment is an excellent fit for our team and for the clients and introducers we work with.”
Carole will focus on supporting clients with long‑term succession planning, trust structures, vulnerable beneficiary arrangements and estate administration, as well as strengthening collaborative working with IFAs and other advisers to ensure integrated outcomes.
Carole McAlpine‑Scott said:
“My focus will be on providing practical, thoughtful advice that supports estate planning which protects families and aligns legal structures with wider financial goals. Harper Macleod has a strong reputation for its private client work and a collaborative approach that really benefits clients and I am excited to be working with such an experienced team of advisers.”
Carole is ranked for Private Wealth Law by the highly regarded Chambers and Partners legal standings, and is a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP), the global professional organisation which helps families to plan for their futures. Carole is also a Notary Public, a specially qualified lawyer who is authorised to verify, certify and authenticate legal documents.
The appointment reflects Harper Macleod’s continued investment in its private client practice, as demand grows for specialist advice that bridges personal, family and business considerations.
