Following the devastating fire in Glasgow city centre, we wanted to share the latest information and outline how Glasgow Chamber of Commerce is supporting the business community at this difficult time.
Many businesses are continuing to experience disruption in and around the city centre, particularly near Glasgow Central Station.

Glasgow City Council
If your business has been directly affected, please do get in touch with Glasgow City Council's Business Engagement Team via UnionSt@glasgow.gov.uk. It has created a dedicated web page for updates on the ongoing incident, which will be updated as more information becomes available.
Union Street Fire Recovery Fund
A multi-million fund to support businesses affected by the fire that destroyed the Union Corner building opens to applications today (23 March).
The Fire Recovery Fund is being administered by Glasgow City Council, using funding from the Scottish Government's £10million commitment to support the recovery from the fire. The fund has been established to support local small businesses affected by the recent fire and its aftermath, especially those who lost their premises or have been unable to engage with their regular customer base as a consequence of the fire.
Eligible businesses negatively impacted by the fire can apply to the fund for financial assistance to help the business recover, stabilise operations and resume trading as quickly as possible.
All eligible businesses that have been displaced due to the loss of Forsyth House and surrounding premises/buildings directly affected by the fire will qualify for support. In addition, eligible businesses located within both the initial safety cordon established on Sunday 8 March and subsequently the updated safety cordon area established on Thursday 12 March will also be eligible to apply for funding.
There are three levels of funding support that will be available from the Fund:

The deadline for applications to the Fire Recovery Fund is 5 April.
Business Insurance
Insurance exists to protect people and businesses during moments like this, and insurers are ready to support their customers. If your business has been affected by the fire, you should contact your insurer as soon as possible to begin the claims process. Your provider will work closely with you to assess the damage and will be on hand to support you every step of the way.
