Engagements Under the Clock - Glasgow's Most Romantic Proposal Hotspots Unveiled

What makes a place romantic? Is it the grandeur of the setting, the intimacy of the moment, or the stories woven into its history?

For generations, couples in Glasgow have found love in its most iconic locations whilst using the city’s atmospheric backdrops as the perfect setting for asking the big question ‘will you marry me?’ And with the most romantic day of the year almost upon us, voco Grand Central Hotel, Glasgow looks at the city’s top proposal hotspots this Valentine’s Day.

One of the most significant is the famous clock at Glasgow Central Station, where countless love stories have begun. Located at the very heart of the city, voco Grand Central directly adjoins Glasgow Central station and has therefore witnessed and played host to newly engaged couples looking to celebrate their romantic pledge.

To mark the occasion and celebrate the many love stories which unfolded before the iconic Glasgow hotel, voco Grand Central is inviting those couples back to relive the start of their love story, raising a glass to their engagements at its elegant Champagne Central bar.

Through-out the month of February, those who have said “yes” under the clock are being invited to Champagne Central for a complimentary glass of champagne, where they can share their engagement stories in a warm and sophisticated setting with a perfect view of the iconic clock.

This celebration of love not only honours the city’s romantic heritage but also unveils a specially curated guide to Glasgow’s most enchanting proposal spots.

Marcello Ventisei, Hotel Manager, said: “We’re delighted to welcome couples back to Champagne Central to relive the magic of popping the question.

“Ultimately, the most romantic spot is often one filled with personal history. For decades, the clock at Grand Central Station has been a meeting place for first dates, and the beginnings of countless love stories.

“Many Scots choose to propose at a place tied to their relationship - whether it’s where they first met, shared their first kiss, or discovered a mutual love for music at a gig. The clock in Glasgow Central Station holds that same sentimental magic, marking the moment where many love stories truly unfolded.”

To celebrate Glasgow’s romantic status, voco Grand Central Hotel has unveiled a specially curated guide to the city’s most enchanting proposal spots:
