Glasgow Climate Week, organised by Glasgow City Council, will take place from 11–16 May, bringing together businesses, educators, innovators and communities for a week of activity focused on turning climate ambition into practical action. The programme highlights Glasgow’s role as a centre for resilient, future‑focused economic growth, with events organised by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce spanning education, careers, innovation and international business leadership.
The week begins on Monday 11 May with COB Futures, an event designed to inspire young people at S3 stage to take an active role in shaping a sustainable future. Delivered in collaboration with Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) regional groups, pupils from across the city will gather at City of Glasgow College Riverside Campus. The session will feature leading voices in sustainability alongside interactive workshops, providing real‑world insight into green career pathways and the skills required for jobs in a low‑carbon economy.
Later on Monday 11 May, attention turns to graduates and early‑career professionals with COB Inspires, delivered in partnership with Gallant. Through learning, discussion and shared experience, attendees will hear directly from those already working in circular and sustainable roles and build networks that support a greener and more resilient economy. Last remaining spaces.
On Tuesday 12 May, Glasgow hosts Congress of Business 2026 (COB26) Glasgow Chamber of Commerce’s flagship gathering and a significant milestone, marking five years since COP26 was held in the city. Delivered alongside partners including the British Chambers of Commerce, Scottish Chambers of Commerce, University of Glasgow and E.ON UK, COB26 brings together international business leaders to explore how resilience and circularity are increasingly becoming sources of competitive advantage. As climate pressures grow, the event highlights what is working in practice, from climate innovation and resilient operations to circular efficiency models that reduce waste, manage risk and cut costs. Also on the morning of 12 May, E.ON UK will host a pre‑Congress of Business breakfast at SWG3's Zinc Bar, bringing together a group of businesses from across sectors. Designed as an informal, discussion‑led gathering, the gathering provides space for open conversation about what is shaping Glasgow’s economy today.
