Scottish Citylink to Provide Discounted Travel for Visitors to Glasgow Charity Art Trail

Scottish Citylink is to offer discounted coach travel for visitors to the Scotties in the City public art trail this summer, helping to raise funds for Maggie’s charity, supporting people affected by cancer.

Citylink will be the official travel partner for the initiative which runs for eight weeks, from 18 June to 16 August 2026, providing discounted fares for trail visitors heading to Glasgow to view the sculptures on selected days.

Throughout the summer, the pack of Scottie dog sculptures will be placed in streets, parks and public spaces across the city, creating an open air gallery for visitors to tour and enjoy.

The Glasgow-based transport company has also sponsored a Scottie, with artist Charlotte Cope creating a travel-themed sculpture design that features well-known Scottish landmarks that feature on the Citylink network.

The aim of the initiative is to raise funds for Maggie’s which provides expert support and information to people in Scotland living with cancer, and their loved ones.

Businesses are invited to sponsor a Scottie sculpture to feature on the trail and once the exhibition is over, the Scotties will be auctioned to raise further vital funds for the charity.

Scottish Citylink Head of Marketing Nicola Campbell said: “It’s a joy to be part of the Scotties in the City project - bringing travel, art and charity together in the most creative of ways. We’re looking forward to helping lots of people enjoy the Scottie sculpture trail by support their travel plans, and we can’t wait to see our finished Citylink sponsored sculpture feature as part of the trail.

“Many of our customers and staff have received vital support from Maggie’s over the years so this is an initiative that means a lot to us and we hope it will help raise funds for the charity to continue helping even more people in the future.”

Hayley Smith, Scotties in the City Project Manager at Maggie’s, said: “Wild in Art trails have had huge success in Scotland and across the UK, and we’re delighted to be bringing the Scotties in the City art trail to Glasgow this summer. The trail has enormous potential to bring people together as well as raise awareness of causes, commerce, and culture in the city. We are delighted to have Citylink on board as a Scottie sponsor, not only sponsoring one of our giant dogs on the trail but also as our travel partner offering discounted travel for people visiting the art trail around the city.

“At the end of the trail, we will host an evening where we will auction off our beautiful giant Scotties, with the aim of raising as much money to help Maggie’s support as many people with cancer and their friends and family as possible.”
