Organisations across Scotland are being invited to a free evening event next week exploring the complex and often misunderstood world of cyber insurance. The session, hosted by the Cyber and Fraud Centre Scotland, will bring together a panel of leading voices to tackle some of the most pressing questions businesses face around digital risk and protection.
The discussion will feature Martin Sloan of Brodies LLP, who will provide a legal perspective on cyber risk, alongside Stephen Randall of Partners&, one of the UK’s leading insurance brokers. They will be joined by Kye Brown from Coalition Inc, a top cyber insurance provider, and George Sutton of the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator.
Together, the panel will examine issues that many organisations are uncertain about, from whether cyber insurance is worth investing in, to what exactly a policy covers and how it applies in the aftermath of an attack. They will also address the difficult questions businesses often grapple with, such as whether paying a ransom demand would ever be covered, and what control organisations may retain or lose once a cyber incident occurs.
With demand for cyber insurance on the rise, the event promises to give attendees valuable clarity on a fast-changing area of risk management. Open to all and free to attend, it offers a rare chance for organisations to hear directly from experts working across the legal, insurance, regulatory, and provider landscape, and to deepen their understanding of how best to protect digital and data assets in today’s evolving threat environment.
