Glasgow has always been a city of innovation, industry, and enterprise. Today, as digital transformation reshapes economies worldwide, it is vital that businesses across our city region have the tools, skills, and confidence to unlock their full digital potential.
That’s why City of Glasgow College and Glasgow Chamber of Commerce are proud to announce a new partnership dedicated to supporting businesses in the private and third sectors on their digital journey.
Driving Productivity and Growth
Digital technology is no longer a “nice-to-have” – it is a fundamental driver of business productivity, competitiveness, and long-term growth. From streamlining operations with automation, to harnessing data for decision-making, to building digitally confident teams, the opportunities for innovation are endless.
Yet many businesses face barriers:
This partnership, part of the College Local Innovation Centres (CLIC) project, funded by Innovate UK, is designed to bridge these gaps – offering practical, accessible, and impactful support to businesses across Glasgow.
Supporting Digital Ambition
Through this collaboration, we will help businesses strengthen three critical areas:
The support will offer a fully funded assessment of your digital capabilities, and a one-day workshop to implement strategies to help enhance your capabilities, with the following dates/milestones:
Sarah Heaney, Membership Manager, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce:

A Shared Commitment to the Region
Both City of Glasgow College and Glasgow Chamber of Commerce share a commitment to building a vibrant, inclusive economy where businesses of all sizes can thrive. By working together, we will create pathways for organisations to access expertise, training, and peer support that will accelerate their digital maturity – and in turn, fuel economic growth across the Glasgow city region.
Stuart McDowall, Head of Innovation & STEM at City of Glasgow College:
“Glasgow has always been a city of creativity and enterprise. Through this partnership, we have a unique opportunity to empower businesses to harness the power of digital, not just to transform how they work today, but to shape the future economy of our city region. Together, we can spark innovation, unlock growth, and create lasting impact for communities across Glasgow.”
Looking Ahead
This is more than a partnership; it is a call to action. Every business, regardless of sector or size, has the potential to benefit from digital transformation. Together, we can unlock that potential – creating stronger businesses, better opportunities, and a more resilient economy for our city.
