Traffic Information Update: George Square North (Anchor Lane to North Frederick Street)

Closure of George Square North (Anchor Lane to North Frederick Street)
George Square Avenue Project – Removal of North Hoarding

In order to remove the northern wall of the hoarding around the Square, the carriageway of George Square North between Anchor Lane and North Frederick Street, will be closed for 4 days.

This will be effective from 0700 hours on Monday 26th October 2026 to 1800 on Thursday 29th October 2026.

North Frederick Street will operate as a southbound road, from Cathedral Street to Martha Street and two way south of Martha Street, whilst the junction with George Square North is closed.

Diversion Route:
Eastbound traffic on West George St; West Nile St, Bath St, Cathedral St, Castle St, High St.
