Clyde Blowers Capital has been announced as the preferred bidder for Ferguson Shipbuilders. Four bids had been made for Ferguson's business, which went into administration on August 15 with the loss of 70 jobs. Clyde Blowers Capital was founded by its chairman Jim McColl, who is one of Scotland's wealthiest people. He said work would now begin to save the shipyard.31 August 2014
