Glasgow Talks invites you to join us at Glasgow Talks with Sth Sir Simon Lister KCB OBE FREng, Managing Director, Naval Ships at BAE Systems on Thursday 28 September 2023.
Taking place on Thursday 28 September 2023 from 8.00am -10am at 200 St Vincent Street, Simon will discuss the huge contribution BAE Systems brings to the Clyde – reflecting on our proud heritage and ambitions for the future. The plans for the Clyde and engagement with Clyde Mission and also explore the skills review and the role of apprenticeships in supporting the ecosystem of the city.
Simon became Naval Ships Managing Director on 1 January 2021. He joined BAE Systems as Managing Director of the Aircraft Carrier Alliance in 2017, before being appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) of BAE Systems Maritime and Land in April 2020 and since joining the Company he has been a member of the Maritime & Land UK Board.
Prior to joining BAE Systems, Simon enjoyed a successful and interesting career as a nuclear submariner and marine engineer in the Royal Navy, concluding as a Vice Admiral, Member of the Navy Board, Chief of Materiel (Fleet), and Chief Naval Engineer.
