Scottish data specialist Bellrock Technology is exploring new international opportunities as it celebrates its 10th anniversary following a milestone year.
The Glasgow-based company is in talks with potential customers in the US and Europe, as well as international businesses based in the UK, to benefit from its award-winning cloud software Lumen®, which helps companies use their data to make better informed business decisions, so they operate more efficiently and trade more profitably.
The move comes during a 2022 which has seen Bellrock Technology secure fresh business in five new sectors – construction, financial services, oil and gas, professional services and transport – putting it on the way to enjoying double digit turnover growth before the year end.
The company has also tripled customer numbers since 2021. Among its recent successes is a £1m agreement with existing customer EDF which sees Bellrock Technology help the energy company use data to manage the safe and reliable operation of its key assets.
It has also worked in partnership with Built Environment – Smarter Transformation (BE-ST), formerly Construction Scotland Innovation Centre, to create a ‘revolutionary’ new data dashboard to help industry stakeholders make better-informed business decisions, which drew praise from the Scottish Government.
Founded in 2012 by Adam Brown and Stephen McArthur, the company has steadily grown its customer base over the subsequent 10 years. As well as EDF, it lists among its clients in energy SGN and SSE, where Lumen® gives them the ability to predict faults before they occur and dispatch emergency crews to where they will be needed ahead of time – reducing operating costs and improving customer service.
Others include Angel Trains, which is using Lumen® to transform the process of condition monitoring of its rolling stock; Ailsa Reliability Solutions Ltd, specialists in providing solutions to improve customers reliability and availability of assets, which has used Lumen® to improve the condition monitoring of equipment and technology available on the market; Dxcover, Omnicell and Time For You Care in healthcare, and progressive and growing advisory firm Beyond HR.
Adam Brown, Chief Executive of Bellrock Technology, said: “We have enjoyed good growth this year, expanding into a range of new sectors, meaning more businesses and organisations in Scotland and the UK are benefitting from our extensive knowledge and world-class capabilities.
“This success is bringing us to the attention of prospective new clients and partners abroad, as the reputation for excellence of both the company and Lumen® continues to grow.”
Adam said that celebrating the 10th anniversary had allowed the company to look back with satisfaction at the journey that not only the business had made, but also Lumen®.
“We realised that over the course of a decade we have invested £5m to build and commercialise Lumen®, transforming it into a unique product that can deliver huge success for companies. Lumen® is now a world-class solution which fully automates the building of data products to deliver valuable insights for any business.
He continued: “Alongside this, we have grown into a truly innovative business, based in the heart of Glasgow, that employs around 20 people including a fantastic mix of experienced professionals and some of the brightest and best young graduates.
“Our talented team, which we will continue to grow, complement Lumen® with a wealth of expertise that can help any business, whether large or small, extract meaningful information from its data, deliver real-time insights and improve day-to-day performance.”
Steve Langmead, Bellrock Technology chairman, added: “Bellrock Technology has gone from strength to strength, and is ready to make the leap on to the international stage.
“We believe organisations across the world can benefit from our expertise and automated success of Lumen®, a unique offering in the global marketplace. Lumen® tackles head on the challenge that faces companies of all shapes and sizes – not just the large enterprises – namely how to best exploit data to deliver best value and return on investment quickly. This is what we will continue to deliver excellence in – using our expertise, experience and data to help drive evidence-based business decisions that benefit any company across any sector.”
