The all-new, Art Deco inspired, Beresford Lounge becomes a new member of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce.
“We are very excited to join the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and embrace all that the membership represents. We look forward to hopefully meeting many members at the various networking events, and we hope that our venue will be able to bring value to the business community of Glasgow. In the meanwhile we would love to hear from other members to see if there is anything that they would like to see from us! So please don’t be shy to email with questions, suggestions or just to say ‘Hello’.”

About the Beresford Lounge
The Beresford Building on Sauchiehall Street is truly one of Glasgow’s most iconic and recognisable buildings. Formerly a hotel, it opened in 1938 in advance of the city’s hosting of the Empire Exhibition that year, which saw 12.8 million visitors, royalty and foreign dignitaries coming to Glasgow.
In 1939 it hosted American survivors, after a U-boat torpedoed their passenger liner, the Athenia. Future president JFK was sent by his Father, Ambassador to Britain at the time, to address them in person. It was young JFK’s first public address representing the United States of America, in a career which would one day take him to the summit of American politics and into the Oval Office at the Whitehouse.
Beresford Lounge hopes to celebrate, preserve and build on this rich history and heritage with beautiful artworks, a glamorous modern Art Deco interior, menus honouring timeless classics while featuring trendy new concoctions, using local products and ingredients, and creating events as well as online content that showcases local artists and businesses.
JFK Suite – Beresford Lounge
The new venue, expected to be Glasgow’s biggest opening in 2021, will play an important role in a revitalising Sauchiehall Street, employing 60 people in various hospitality, event and catering roles. Beresford Lounge will also provide a much-needed addition to Sauchiehall Street’s entertainment and event scene, that was already struggling, having lost some of its historic venues, pre-pandemic.
The new Café, Bar-Restaurant and Club will take up residence in a beautifully renovated space in the iconic Beresford Building when it opens this summer.
Once open, Beresford Lounge will offer bespoke corporate memberships and hireable catered spaces – perfect for everything from business meetings and networking events to Christmas parties and client hospitality.
