The Drink Cabinet, Scotland’s leading drinks marketing agency, has today launched ‘Make it’, a business incubator to support makers & shakers with fresh ideas in drinks, creatives or tech entrepreneurs, or young businesses in the hospitality space looking for support by offering financial and expert investment and time.
Make it is a no-strings-attached opportunity and invites applicants from across the UK to get involved. From a great idea on the back of a napkin or a new drinks-led venture that needs some backing, Make it is open to all.
Phase one will see those interested submit an online application form to pitch their idea, then a shortlist will be invited to present back to The Drink Cabinet team. One idea will go on to win £500 of backing, however all applicants with potential will be nurtured by The Drink Cabinet and their wider network and community.
Lauren Stewart, The Drink Cabinet founder, said “The Drink Cabinet was built on a passion for making great work; in the community, in collaboration, in the incubation & inception of great ideas, and of course, working together to make the drinks industry what it is today.
2020 was a year like no other - the world shut its doors in March, and no one was sure when they would be open again. But behind these doors, we began to see magic; Ideas, entrepreneurship, and a new-wave thinking spilling through the cracks and out into the empty streets, giving us hope for what was about to come next.
We still aren’t out of the water yet, and our industry will take a long time to recover, but we want to do as much as we can to support and we believe that every great idea, be it a new dining concept, a solution for a drinks brand, a creative project or a digital execution, deserves a platform and opportunity.
Applications for Make it are now open, and will close on 26th March 2021. It will then run through the year, and there is no limit on the number of times people can apply. You can find out more by visiting thedrinkcabinet.co.uk/make-it
