Prepare the workforce of the future and become a Business Advisor with Young Enterprise Scotland

Are you passionate about preparing the workforce of the future?

Young Enterprise Scotland – Glasgow is seeking volunteer Business Advisers to engage with schools participating in our flagship Company Programme and support school students with their business knowledge and expertise, as they launch their student company.

Young Enterprise Scotland (YES) offers enterprise and entrepreneurship programmes and development opportunities for young people in educational establishments across Scotland. YES, have been inspiring & equipping local Scottish students to learn, develop and reach their full potential through enterprise school initiatives since 1992. Every year we support around 15,000 young people, from all backgrounds, to build their business knowledge, entrepreneurial skills & ultimately become more employable.

We offer a variety of programmes for young people in secondary education across Scotland, with our flagship offering for high schools being our year-long Company Programme. Our programmes allow pupils in S5/S6 to establish and manage their own company, with support from local business volunteers and Young Enterprise Scotland staff. At the end of the academic year, students then compete on a local, regional, national and European level to be crowned Company of the Year.

With the Curriculum for Excellence's and the renewed emphasis on Skills for Learning, Life and Work, the Company Programme is perfectly placed to add value to young people's senior phase experience. It allows them to develop a wide range of skills and receive invaluable entrepreneurial experience. Furthermore, the Company Programme is now fully accredited by the SCQF.

Our new accreditation will give pupils an optional qualification at SCQF Level 6 worth 26-30 credit points, in addition to the fantastic experience they will have during the programme.

Please see our website where you can find out more information about Young Enterprise Scotland, along with the YouTube recording of the Company Programme's Virtual Launch event where you can hear testimonies from students about how valuable they found the experience!

If you would like more information on our award-winning programme, please contact Fraser Morrison, the Senior Programme Executive for the Company Programme (fraser.morrison@yes.org.uk)
