This week we celebrate the success of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce’s Made in Glasgow event, which took place on May 18 at The Studio Venue Company.
Made in Glasgow is based on the principle that all businesses no matter the sector, age or success have valuable experience to offer advice to their peers.
The event was hosted by Andrew Dobbie, founder of MadeBrave and the keynote speech was delivered by Boyd Tunnock, who at 85 years of age, continues to work as Chairman and Managing Director of the company founded by his Grandfather in 1890, Tunnock’s.
Alongside Boyd, the event featured a host of speakers from some of Glasgow best known businesses, including Kissing with Confidence, Dear Green Coffee Roasters, Soho & Bucks Bar and Premiership Experience.
The event provided an excellent opportunity for networking, and proved as enjoyable for the speakers as for the delegates. Lisa Lawson, founder of Dear Green Coffee Roasters and the Glasgow Coffee Festival commented, “I really enjoyed the event, and only wish I could have stayed longer!
“I’ve made a few connections since and am really appreciative of the chance to promote Dear Green to a new audience!”
Matt Wardrop, Client Relationship Manager at Kissing with Confidence said, “It was great to share the Kissing with Confidence story at the Made in Glasgow event. There was a friendly atmosphere in the room which helped relax me from the outset.
“The Glasgow Chamber team were very helpful in the build-up and on the day, and I’m looking forward to next year already!”
