City of Glasgow College’s Cathedral Street City campus has scooped another two prestigious national architectural awards for its stunning design.
It has taken the Scottish Property Awards for Architectural Excellence (public buildings) and for Development of the Year (public buildings).
City campus is the larger of the college’s twin site super campus and has now won seven significant architectural titles since opening in September 2016.
Paul Little, Principal and Chief Executive for City of Glasgow College, said:
“City campus has wowed over 19,000 visitors since it opened and is making a significant impact in professional and technical education in the UK and beyond. It stands tall and proud at the heart of Glasgow’s learning quarter and will no doubt continue to be an architectural icon for many years to come. I am absolutely delighted that our incredible building and outstanding team of architects have once more been recognised for their architectural excellence.”
The college has amassed over 20 architectural awards with both Riverside and City reaching the final shortlists for UK architecture’s most prestigious accolade, the RIBA Stirling prize back to back in 2016 and 2017.
The Scottish Property Awards recognise the achievements of development projects and people in commercial and public buildings across Scotland. The winners were revealed at the property industry’s largest celebration held at the Hilton in Glasgow on Thursday 3 May 2018.
