The countdown is on until a new force in world sport comes to Scotland this summer – the Glasgow 2018 European Championships taking place between 2 and 12 August 2018.
One of the busiest and most exciting days of the 11 days of sporting action will be Wednesday 8 August when Europe’s elite cyclists undertake the Men’s and Women’s Cycling Time Trial events. There will be significant road closures in place for the event, including closures around Junction 15 of the M8. Most closures will take place between 02:00 and 21:00 on Wednesday 8 August.
Roads and motorways in and around Glasgow, East Dunbartonshire and Stirling are expected to be extremely busy and we recommend people use public transport, walk or cycle to travel into the city centre or work from home on Wednesday 8 August. Please plan ahead and rethink your usual travel.
