At the SCQF Partnership it’s really important that our website is meeting the needs of our users. After a lengthy period of design and development, we have now launched our new site, http://scqf.org.uk, and hope that all of you love it as much as we do!
User experience was fundamental to our project, so design and functionality of the website was built using the Umbraco platform, known for its user-friendly content management system, flexibility and security features. Our homepage design has been completely revamped, while still retaining the look and feel of the SCQF brand. It now features a video banner and clearly signposts our different user groups to relevant and updated information.
We have also added a suite of new videos, including a film highlighting our School Ambassador Programme (http://scqf.org.uk/case-studies/school-ambassador-programme/). It focuses on how Bearsden Academy have embedded the SCQF into their communications on subject choices and future pathways with pupils and parents.
In redesigning the site structure, we have reduced the number of levels within the site and cut down on clicks to make it easier for users to find information and navigate the many different areas of the site.
The interactive Framework is now mobile-friendly, has been completely transformed and incorporates links to the SCQF database so that users can determine if a particular learning programme is on the SCQF, and, if so, find out the SCQF level and credit point value.
We would be very interested to hear what you think about our new website, so please feel free to get in touch with your comments and suggestions for improvement to firstname.lastname@example.org.
