The brains behind the leading radio taxi firms from 12 of Europe’s major cities will gather in Glasgow tomorrow (Thursday, 25 May) to share best practice and discuss the future of the industry.
Glasgow Taxis Ltd is hosting the European Radio Taxi Association’s (ERTA) annual conference over two days (May 25 & 26) in some of the city’s most famous buildings.
Delegates will arrive from London and Dublin as well as from France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland, Finland, Sweden and Denmark for the two-day conference.
The itinerary includes a civic reception at the City Chambers, a visit to Glasgow Taxis Ltd’s HQ and tour of the city, plus evening meals at Two Fat Ladies and Marco Pierre White at Hotel Indigo.
Glasgow Taxis Ltd chairman Stephen Flynn said: “We are thrilled to be hosting the latest ERTA conference which has become established as an invaluable opportunity to share ideas and learnings with some of our peers from Europe’s biggest cities.
“Every year we emerge with new and fresh ideas for how to drive our businesses forward as well as being able to anticipate and counter any threats based on successful strategies used elsewhere.
“We extend a very warm welcome to all those attending, hope they enjoy their time in our wonderful city and we’re sure they’ll see us live up to our now famous slogan: PEOPLE MAKE GLASGOW!”
The Glasgow ERTA conference has been made possible thanks to the support of the city’s business network which the Glasgow Taxis Ltd executive committee was keen to acknowledge.
Stephen Flynn added: “We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to the many people who have enabled us to provide such a busy and fantastic two-day itinerary. In no particular order, a big thanks goes to the magnificent Grand Central Hotel, to Glasgow City Council, The City Chambers and Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, to award-winning restaurants Two Fat Ladies and Marco Pierre White at Hotel Indigo and to our valued sponsors Mantax, MT Data and Allied Vehicles.
“In addition, we must offer our appreciation to the staff, members and drivers of Glasgow Taxis Ltd for all their unstinting support and service.”
