Little’s, the UK-based global chauffeur business, has announced plans to boost its specialist events service to meet demand for event transport planning and logistical expertise around the world.
Deploying 50 years of experience in managing transport for high profile events, Little’s has invested in more skilled transport co-ordinators to join on-site event production teams, while a new section on the company’s website offers a specialist transport service for event and conference planners.
The business has also created The Little’s Event Planners Playbook to offer event industry professionals valuable insider advice to ensure transport is a seamless part of their event plan – whether it’s a major sporting occasion or a VIP dinner.
Little’s has amassed a huge amount of experience in major events over the years, including the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games, the Ryder Cup, the G8 summit, the MTV EMAs, the Metiers d'Art Chanel Fashion Show, the Open Golf Championship and, most recently, the Formula 1 Heineken Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai (April 2017).
As Little’s MD Heather Matthews recognises getting transport right for an event, no matter its scale or location, can be a major challenge for organisers and she believes this is why the company has seen demand for its services rise in the past year.
She commented: ‘Little’s is known for providing luxurious cars and chauffeurs, but our events service goes so much further. The demands placed on the planning teams of major events and conferences are huge, and transport is one issue that can completely derail a schedule if it’s not managed properly. We are increasingly offering transport co-ordinators on the ground at events, providing a full planning and logistical ‘back room’ servce and round the clock support, all of which is helping to ensure flawless transport delivery when an event is live.
‘There is so much detail to manage under the heading ‘transport’ - selecting the right cars, managing multiple airport pick-ups, luggage, security passes, on-board technology, traffic delays and schedule changes. Our recent work in China for a major F1 client is a good example. We dispatched a transport co-ordinator to work directly with the client in Shanghai, providing an all-encompassing transport service for VIP airport transfers, practise and race days, all backed up by a 24-hour support team at Little’s UK office including the services of a Mandarin language translator.
‘With our enhanced events service, we can take as much stress as possible from the production team when the event is live, ensure that the event schedule is on track and that guests are happy, around the clock.’
