Paul Cooney, Chief Executive of the Royal Bank of Scotland Kiltwalk, said: “Former US President Barack Obama's first visit to Scotland was momentous, but who would have thought that £570,000 would be distributed through Kiltwalk to all the charities who take part this year. “This now means an incredible and unique fundraising boost for walkers at this year’s Kiltwalk events. If you raise, £100, your chosen charity will receive £140.
“And there's still time to benefit so register at thekiltwalk.co.uk for the St Andrews to Dundee Kiltwalk on August 20 and Edinburgh on September 17. “Thank you Sir Tom, President Obama and everyone who contributed to this incredible boost for Scotland's third sector.”
In addition to supporting children’s charities, Kiltwalk 2017 is open to all charities in Scotland with over 500 charitable organisations set to benefit this year. Anyone walking for Kiltwalk sees 140% of their fundraising going to the STV Children’s Appeal.
