Care Boxes 4 Care Homes Appeal

Covid Safety Network has recently launched a campaign to raise money to provide care boxes for care homes.

The campaign aims to support care homes across Scotland who have been suffering badly from the current Covid crisis and provide them with a range of Personal Protective Equipment as well as other useful goods to help them continue to provide the care needed for our elderly population.

Hannah Wright and the team from Covid Safety Network have been working hard approaching possible sponsors. Hannah says ‘we’re really pleased to have received support from a variety of sponsors and are now keen to move this forward and get the boxes out into the community as quickly as possible. The money raised from our campaign will pay for the material to make scrubs and masks and will help us with distribution costs’

Covid Safety Network has been working with the Maxillofacial Unit at the QEUH in Glasgow to develop a robust re-useable visor for health and social care workers and a number of these will also be included in the box.

The care boxes aim to not only help protect the most vulnerable in our society but also reduce the amount of time care workers spend looking for, and ordering individual items of PPE which means more time can be spent with patients and residents. The care boxes also provide the first environmentally responsible solution to PPE with a number of re-useable items included.

There are many ways in which Scottish businesses and individuals can help the Care Boxes 4 Care Homes appeal. To find out more about the campaign click here
