About the organisation: Keep Scotland Beautiful is the charity for Scotland's environment, with a vision for a clean, green, sustainable Scotland.
Keep Scotland Beautiful has three goals - to combat climate change, tackle litter and waste, and protect and enhance the places we live, work and visit.
Key sustainability highlights:
Young Scot & Youth Link
Keep Scotland Beautiful is working in partnership with Young Scot and YouthLink Scotland on the COP26 Scottish Youth Climate Programme. The programme will ensure that young people can play a key role in Scotland’s response to the climate emergency, and that youth workers and those who work with young people are equipped to support them to do so.
The Scottish Government is funding the programme and it is being co-designed by young people from across Scotland.
As part of the programme, Keep Scotland Beautiful is providing accredited Climate Emergency Training to young people, youth workers and people who work with young people.
They are currently recruiting people to get involved.
Climate Ready Classrooms
Since 2019, Keep Scotland Beautiful has taught through our Climate Ready Classrooms course, carbon literacy to 79 teachers and 1,513 pupils from 62 schools.
In Glasgow, specifically they’ve trained eight teachers and 111 pupils from six schools.
In addition, they have delivered train the trainer courses to 76 teachers from 54 schools, allowing these teachers to continue to train young people over the coming years. Nine of the teachers were from eight Glasgow schools.
In September Keep Scotland Beautiful will be launching the Climate Action topic for Eco-Schools Scotland and will be hosting their first online Climate Action Week with schools signed up from all 32 local authority areas.
