HSBC expands West of Scotland division with senior hire

HSBC today (3 May, 2012) announced the appointment of Nadeem Sarwar as senior commercial manager for the west of Scotland, as the bank continues to expand its operations.
In the new role, Nadeem will lead the bank's Multicultural banking proposition, developing relationships and catering to the business needs of entrepreneurs in Scotland.
Prior to joining the commercial team in Glasgow, Nadeem, who has eight years banking experience, spent four years as senior commercial manager for HSBC in the south-east of England and four years with RBS, latterly as senior relationship manager for international trade.
Nadeem, joins the bank's expanding commercial division at a time when HSBC is recording record growth in Scotland, having recently passed the £1bn lending mark for the first time and increasing its SME lending by 38 per cent in the last year.
Commenting on his appointment, Nadeem said:
"As a Scot who studied at Glasgow University, I am delighted to once again be living and working in Scotland. HSBC's commercial client base continues to expand and diversify and it is certainly an exciting time to be joining the team.
