Michael Armstrong (l) and Derren McRae (r).
Leading property adviser CBRE has expanded its Global Corporate Services (GCS) offering to Scotland.
GCS provides commercial real estate advice to corporate occupiers offering transaction management, project management, facilities management and consulting advice and to support the expansion, Michael Armstrong, Associate Director, has relocated to Scotland from CBRE's GCS established team in London.
Initially, Michael will have a particular focus on the oil and gas sector, splitting his time between CBRE's Aberdeen and Edinburgh offices, advising companies on their commercial property portfolios in the UK and beyond using CBRE's global network of offices. The company is established in all the major hubs for the energy industry including Calgary, Paris, Singapore and Houston.
Derren McRae, Associate Director of CBRE's Aberdeen office said: "The expansion of our GCS services into Scotland, and Michael's arrival, are an excellent addition to the Scottish business, offering oil and gas companies a locally based point of contact for all their global real estate requirements. We look forward to working with his team's existing occupier client base and also with Aberdeen based companies looking to expand or enhance their operations, not only across the UK, but to new markets worldwide."
Michael Armstrong has been with CBRE as part of the GCS team since 2004 and has worked in both London and Sydney during this time. His principal role within GCS is the management of major corporate accounts across EMEA, with a particular emphasis on providing strategic portfolio and transaction advice in conjunction with local CBRE teams.
Michael commented: "I have wanted to return to Scotland for a while and am really looking forward to the opportunity of working with our teams here, particularly Derren and the Aberdeen office, focusing on oil and gas sector companies. With CBRE's local and global network of offices and GCS service lines, we are well placed to serve the sector. In addition, our complex and emerging markets desk also enables us to cover locations in the Middle East and Africa where we are seeing a lot of activity from oil and gas sector companies."
Michael's recent experience has included managing a number of instructions in various locations in the Middle East and Africa including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Egypt and Angola, all strategic locations for oil and gas companies. Derren will be attending this year's Offshore Technology Conference where he will be linking up again with Houston based colleagues and clients.
