Iain Brown, current Chairman of JCI Glasgow, was recently awarded the 'Most Outstanding Member in Europe' in front of over 2,000 people at the organisation's European Conference in Braunschweig, Germany.

The prestigious award is not only for exceptional contribution to the member's local JCI branch, but also for excellence at a national and international level, as well as commitment to developing the local community.

27 year old Iain Brown, (a lawyer with Dundas & Wilson CS LLP), has always shown true commitment to JCI's values. He joined as a member only two years ago, before joining the JCI Glasgow Board, and boldly took on the leadership role of Chairman of JCI Glasgow in January this year. His networking and business connections have strengthened JCI Glasgow and increased membership and attendance at networking, training and social events. He has also taken part in many community and charitable projects, recently spending four days running 110 miles cross country across Ireland with colleagues from Dundas & Wilson who raised £12,000 for Alzheimer's Scotland.

Past JCI Glasgow Chairwoman, Maggie Georgopoulos said: "Iain personifies what JCI Glasgow is all about: young people showing inspiration and initiative, making a real difference in the world ..."

Iain Brown said: "I am humbled to win this award. There are some really inspiring and motivated people in the organisation globally so to be judged alongside them is an honour. JCI has given me the opportunity and motivation to really develop myself and, in the last 2 years, I've had challenges that would normally only be faced by people far more senior in their business organisations. It's been an incredible experience and learning opportunity."

Iain will go forward to the World level in November at JCI's World Conference in Taiwan where he will be up against the Most Outstanding Members from the Americas, Africa & the Middle East and Asia Pacific.
