The steel frame of Buchanan Gardens is now in place, revealing the shape of the most exciting residential development Glasgow has seen for some time. The mixed use development, situated on one of the city's most vibrant and upmarket shopping streets, will form part of Land Securities extensive Scottish portfolio which includes Buchanan Galleries Glasgow, The Centre Livingston, Bon Accord Aberdeen and Overgate Dundee.

Land Securities, founded in 1944, became a Real Estate Investment Trust in 2007 and now own and manage more than 29 million sq ft of property. They have a breadth of experience and success in incorporating high quality, uniquely designed residential properties into high profile city centre locations throughout the UK.

Not only will the development comprise 49 exclusive apartments, with residents' own private roof garden and gymnasium, but an exciting retail line up including watches of Switzerland, Sketchers, Paperchase and Gap as well as a flagship Forever 21 which is their first store in Scotland.

Jan Eldridge of Land Securities said: "We are delighted with the reaction Buchanan Gardens is attracting in Glasgow. It mirrors the success we have seen with high profile city centre developments elsewhere in the UK and the key has been offering a premium quality product, in a first class city centre location, at a competitive price."

Buchanan Gardens certainly seem to be ticking all the boxes for young professionals looking for the best in city living, with many buyers attracted by the development's private gymnasium and residents lounge area. Located within the centre of the development, the roof garden's formal lawns and seating areas have been designed to create an oasis in the heart of the city with birch trees, water features and pergolas, planted with climbers, all affording privacy. The gardens will offer all buyers life enhancing qualities of relaxation and privacy with views on to the exclusive space. A number of apartments will also have private outdoor space with terraces and balconies.

Jennifer Goldie of Savills said: "This really will be a special place to live. The apartments will offer a high level of specification with exciting features, like the landscaped roof garden which will provide fortunate owners with an oasis of tranquillity, right in the heart of the city."

Nick Davis, Land Securities Development Director said: "We're making excellent progress with the building works, which people can see taking shape every day. Not only are we bringing new retailers to the city centre and encouraging sustainable city living, but we are also creating 120 construction jobs and apprenticeships throughout the building period."

Over 400 potential buyers have registered an interest in the one, two, and three bedroom apartments being marketed by Jennifer Goldie of Savills. She said: "It's so exciting to see the development taking shape and to be able to appreciate how its presence will transform this part of Buchanan Street. With only 49 apartments we are encouraging buyers to register their interest early in order to secure an invitation to the prelaunch early next year".
