Past Chefs Andrew Fairlie, Suzanne Ritchie and Jim Kerr toast current Chef Darin Campbell.
Hotel du Vin at One Devonshire Gardens is today (Wednesday 18 January) celebrating the hotel's 25th anniversary and bringing four of its previous and current chefs together for the first time to host a unique culinary experience.
Current Executive Chef Darin Campbell will be joined by three of the hotel's previous chefs to mark the quarter of a century milestone. The hotel's first chef Suzanne Ritchie, as well as Jim Kerr and Andrew Fairlie, will each host a table at the VIP birthday lunch.
Guests will dine in the award winning bistro on a luxurious five course menu inspired by the chefs' signature styles including Andrew Fairlie's oak smoked lobster and Darin Campbell's roast loin of venison.
Andy Roger, General Manager at Hotel du Vin at One Devonshire Gardens commented: "Today is all about celebrating the hotel's fantastic history and success over the past 25 years. It really is very special to be bringing together, for the very first time, so many of the past greats that helped make One Devonshire Gardens what it is today. The hotel continues to be a well loved Glasgow institution and we look forward to the next exciting 25 years."
The hotel has an enviable reputation for service and style and attracts high calibre chefs including present Executive Chef Darin Campbell, with past chefs including Gordon Ramsay and Andrew Fairlie.
Darin Campbell, who worked at the hotel earlier in his career, took over the culinary reins in June 2011. This was closely followed by new General Manager Andy Roger, who has been with the Hotel du Vin and Malmaison Group since 2002. The appointments marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter at the hotel.
Built in 1886 by a wealthy ship merchant, the hotel is a series of five converted town houses. One Devonshire Gardens was established as a hotel and opened in 1986 as one of the first boutique hotels in the UK. The hotel started as only one house, No. 1 Devonshire Gardens, hence the name, and over the years as the other houses became available the hotel grew in size. The hotel was bought by the Hotel du Vin and Malmaison Group in 2007 and the Group invested £3m into an extensive refurbishment plan as well as the purchase of the final part of house number four. The hotel now houses the impressive, complete terrace of the five properties.
