It was third time lucky for Mactaggart & Mickel Homes site manager Stuart Gillespie who has been named the Supreme Winner for the Medium Builder category (up to 1,000 homes per year) at this year's NHBC Pride in the Job Awards.  Stuart has twice before been a finalist in the prestigious awards known as the 'oscars' of the housebuilding industry.

The Pride in the Job Awards recognise exemplary commitment to building new homes of outstanding quality and Stuart made it through to the UK finals after being named the Scotland winner for his category for the third year in a row.  He is now officially one of the four best site managers in the UK having beaten off stiff competition from the seven other regional winners to scoop the title.

Stuart was presented with his award by NHBC chief executive Imtiaz Farookhi and TV presenter Denise van Outen in London on Friday 13 January.

Commenting on his win, Stuart said: "It's great to get recognition from our industry peers for the effort put in on site every day.  I work with a brilliant team, every one of whom is committed to producing work of the highest quality.  We strive to improve our performance each year and this Pride in the Job Award will really motivate us to do even better in 2012."

Ed Monaghan, chief executive of Mactaggart & Mickel Group, is delighted at Stuart's continued success:  "These awards are testament to the fantastic work done by Stuart and his team.  As a company we are renowned for the quality of our homes and our site teams deliver consistently high standards at every development.  The fact that this is Stuart's eighth NHBC Pride in the Job Award highlights the vital role he plays in ensuring these standards and the exemplary leadership he displays."

Since joining Mactaggart & Mickel Homes as an apprentice joiner 20 years ago, Stuart has worked his way up through the ranks to site manager showing a real commitment to the company.  He is currently overseeing the company's Marr Meadows development in Troon, a collection of 64 semi-detached and detached homes in the popular coastal town.
