Leading property consultant CBRE has announced three new appointments to its Property and Asset Management team in Scotland.

John McLaughlin joins as associate director in Glasgow, Katie Pirie as a senior surveyor in Glasgow and James Lynch as a senior surveyor in Edinburgh.  All three appointments have been made to strengthen the asset management offering and expand the team's skillset.

John McLaughlin joins the CBRE Glasgow office from Stockland Developments UK Ltd where he worked since 2001 and became director of Property Management in 2007.  John was responsible for growing the Property Management department from the management of £80m assets to £1bn, increasing staff numbers and adding new systems.  John has also held property management roles at Chesterton plc and General Accident plc (now Aviva).

John is joined in Glasgow by Katie Pirie, who comes from Colliers International UK plc where she worked since 2006.  Katie was part of the Property and Asset Management team there and duties included the day to day management of a variety of commercial properties across Scotland including multi-occupied office buildings and industrial estates.

James Lynch, joining CBRE's Edinburgh office, comes from a retail asset management role at DTZ, where he worked since 2006.  Whilst there, James' role was to proactively manage and add value to property portfolios on behalf of mainstream funds, property companies and high net worth individuals.

In their new roles with CBRE, John, Katie and James will work alongside the existing experienced and successful team managing assets across Scotland on behalf of a number of clients including Aberdeen Asset Management, Royal London and Lloyds Banking Group.

Karen Jamieson, director and head of the Property and Asset Management team, commented on the new additions: "We are very pleased that John, James and Katie have joined the team. They all bring various skills and experience to the table and have enabled us to expand our offering in this area, which we believe has strong growth potential for the business overall.  I am confident that their knowledge and understanding will add weight to our client offering as we continue to recruit the best talent available."
