Murphy Financial celebrates 35th birthday

Adrian Murphy BA Cert PFS, Associate Partner, Murphy Financial.
Murphy Financial will be 35 years old on 1 May 2012.
Founded in Ayr in 1977 by Brian Murphy the firm began as an Insurance Brokerage after Brian left his job as an Insurance Inspector for Norwich Union to set up on his own.
Over the years the business developed to offer both Financial Services and Insurance.
Today as two separate firms, Murphy Insurance and Murphy Financial they both continue to go from strength to strength.
In 2004 Adrian Murphy joined Murphy Financial as a graduate of Glasgow Caledonian University, having achieved a degree in Financial Services.
This was the beginning of a more focussed approach to Financial Services.
Over the last few years Murphy Financial has evolved into one of the leading financial Planning firms in the country winning the 'Best Small Firm' award at the prestigious Standard Life 'Forward Thinking' Conference at Celtic Manor in November 2010.
With the changes required in the business to be ready for the FSA's Retail Distribution Review (due to be implemented on 1 January 2013) already in place, Murphy Financial is now looking to the future of Financial Planning.
Working towards Certified Financial Planning Status as individuals and a firm will be the next milestone alongside completing the STEP Certificate in Financial Services to further compliment its services for legal firms.
On 16 March 2012 Murphy Financial opened its first office on Ingram Street in Glasgow, in response to demand from its professional partners in the city.
With a recruitment program for 2012 underway to give more support to its Financial Planners, the future is looking bright.
To celebrate, Murphy Financial are hosting a drinks reception on 11 May at Horton's for our partners and clients, with entertainment from the Astrid String Quartet.
