A roundtable meeting hosted by the Cabinet Secretary for Finance, Employment and Sustainable Growth, Mr John Swinney  MSP, and Minister for Children and Young People, Aileen Campbell MSP will take place on Thursday 28 June 10 - 11.30 am at the Scottish Parliament.

The agenda will include looking at evidence, best practice examples across a range of policies; and of course your input and thoughts as to how we might take further steps to ensure everyone has the opportunity to work; make a positive contribution to sustainable economic growth; and, lay the foundations for the future wellbeing and achievement of our children and young people.

The Scottish Government's purpose to increase sustainable economic growth includes key aims to realise our full economic potential with more and better employment opportunities; and, to make sure our children have the best start in life and are ready to succeed.

The Scottish Government has prioritised supporting parents to do the very best for their children so that children develop into healthy, happy, confident, and successful individuals, ready and equipped for the challenges of adult life, including work and parenthood.  Ensuring parents access and participate in the workforce underpins this.

We want to support parents to secure sustainable employment opportunities and economic security their families, along with work-life balance.  And we want to explore all avenues to deliver this, including how we can work jointly with private business.
