Richard Muir, Deputy Chief Executive, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce.
Glasgow Chamber of Commerce has promoted Richard Muir to the newly created post of Deputy Chief Executive.
Richard has been Commercial Director at the Chamber since December 2009, and previous to that Marketing Director at Bauer Radio, working for both Radio Clyde and Radio Forth.
His new role as number two to Chief Executive Stuart Patrick will see him tasked with stepping up the strategic relationships he has helped develop with key players in the city and beyond.
He said: "There is so much energy and enthusiasm in the Chamber and amongst our members. I'm really forward to working even harder on behalf of our membership, further developing our overall offering to them and to the city."
Glasgow Chamber President Varry McMenemy said: "Over the last 30 months Richard has been a vital member of the team here, and the key man behind the development of such commercially and strategically successful event series such as Glasgow Talks and Behind The Scenes.
"He was also instrumental in the creation of our new CROWD member-to-member conference, the first of which took place recently. This promotion is richly deserved, and I have no doubt that in his new role, Richard will go on to increase his influence even further than he has already achieved."
