With the beginning of the 2014 Commonwealth Games getting closer and closer, Search Recruitment Consultancy have launched a massive push to fill 1,044 positions for the event.

Vacancies have opened up across a whole range of sectors, from sporting roles to corporate posts and event management.

Some of the more interesting positions include a 'Shooting Coordinator' to adjudicate all target events, a mechanic for the car of the Queen's Baton Relay and a 'Look Officer', tasked with ensuring that the area around the venues are visually attractive to all those visiting the city.

Search is an official recruitment agency of the Games and are advertising the vacancies on their website.

This is great news for the people of Glasgow and is just one of many ways the Commonwealth Games will benefit the city. Providing job opportunities is a huge economic boost for the region and is very promising for the entire Glasgow business community.

What is particularly welcoming is the diversity of skills which are being sought, with applicants being encouraged to apply regardless of their backgrounds.

We are confident that as the months pass, an even greater number of opportunities will arise, helping the city of Glasgow and its people.
