The Royal Society of Edinburgh (RSE) is setting up a Young Academy. Recently they launched the first call for applications for membership of the RSE Young Academy of Scotland and are keen to encourage applications from talented and creative, young academics and professionals, to be the founding members. Full details can be found on the RSE's website: www.rse.org.uk/youngacademy/index.htm

They expect that members will normally range from late 20s to early 40s and will be admitted for 3 years in the first instance, with scope for renewal for a further 3 years. The first cohort will be chosen by the RSE Council from what they hope will be a very strong field of applications.

The closing date for applications is Friday 1 July 2011. If you would like any further information on the Young Academy or the application process, please do not hesitate to contact Dr William Duncan or Dr Avril Davidson, the RSE Young Academy of Scotland Project Manager, Tel: 0131 240 5027, Email: youngacademy@royalsoced.org.uk
