Your Chamber would like to congratulate David Dennis, Solicitor in Media and Technology at Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP who has won pair of return flights on the easyJet network from Glasgow Airport.

David was selected at random after submitting the correct answer to our competition question which asked how many routes easyJet fly from Glasgow Airport, which was 14.

Promisingly, easyJet have since announced the reintroduction of direct flights to Amsterdam, bringing the total number of Glasgow routes to 15.

Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP are a leading UK law firm, with 62 partners and some 450 staff.  They have offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, London and Aberdeen. The company provides corporate, commercial, public sector and private clients throughout the UK and abroad with a full range of legal services.  Their client base includes not only large organisations, but also small and medium-sized enterprises, based both in the UK and increasingly further afield.

David said   "I'm delighted to win this competition and look forward to picking one of easyJet's Glasgow destinations for a summer getaway. This prize is just one of the benefits which membership of the Chamber has brought me, showing that it doesn't just help to improve people's businesses".

We hope you enjoy your trip David and wish you a safe journey.

Your Chamber not overstate how proud we are of our latest partner for Glasgow with easyJet. Improving Glasgow's links with the rest of the world is essential for the city's economic future.  For this reason we are extremely pleased with easyJet's recent decision to reintroduce direct daily flights between Glasgow and Amsterdam. The airline is one of Your Chamber's newest partners which is an exciting development for the city.

easyJet aims to carry around 85,000 passengers per year after the launch of the route on October 31. The low cost carrier now flies on 15 routes out of Glasgow following this recent expansion.

Developing links with the continent will undoubtedly help Glasgow business's to compete in the global market. This latest announcement will also be welcomed by holiday makers, who will now be able to choose Amsterdam as a destination for that well earned weekend away.

These are opinion which are shared by Hugh Aitken, easyJet's commercial manager for Scotland, who reiterated the airline's increased focus upon business travel and city breaks, welcoming the potential for both the airline and the City of Glasgow which the new route offers.

Stuart Patrick, chief executive of Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, said: "As a vocal champion for Glasgow's economic growth we know how crucial air routes and in turn easyJet is to the future prosperity of the city. That's why Glasgow Chamber of Commerce's newest member has such significance and we are very encouraged to hear of some of the very positive announcements made".
