Festive Music on Glasgow’s style mile

As part of five weeks of Glasgow Loves Christmas entertainment, this Thursday (8 December) late night shoppers on Glasgow's style mile will be serenaded by two very different brass bands adding to the city's festive atmosphere.
 
Local groups, Kings Park Brass and the Salvation Army will perform at different 'hot spots' including the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall steps and Buchanan Street with the glittering backdrop of Glasgow's style mile winter lighting.

Kings Park Brass, 5:30pm - 6:15pm, Glasgow Royal Concert Hall steps

Kings Park Brass, 6:30pm - 7:15pm, Argyle Street

Kings Park Brass is a traditional brass band based on the south side of Glasgow. With players of all ages, the band regularly plays in venues across Scotland entertaining their audiences with the lifting sounds of Christmas classics.

Salvation Army, 6:30pm - 7:30pm, Buchanan Street

Blending the traditional with the contemporary, the Salvation Army band will perform under the stars and twinkling lights of Buchanan Street. Known around the world for their beautiful music, the Salvation Army will entertain families and festive revellers alike.

Background

Glasgow Loves Christmas is the city's annual festive campaign - a private/public partnership comprising Glasgow City Council, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau and Glasgow Life together with the Greater Glasgow Hotels Association, Glasgow Restaurant Association and seven of the style mile's major retailers: Argyll Arcade, Buchanan Galleries, Hamleys, Frasers, John Lewis, Princes Square and St Enoch    - the biggest number of partners to date.
